This Grape Hyacinth painting is number 10 out 50 in the series. This painting took me a little bit longer to paint since there are so many tiny little parts of the flower to paint. It makes it harder to maintian white space on the paper for highlights.
I used different mixes of ultramarine blue, winsor violet, permanent rose, and colbalt blue for the flowers.
This is one of my favorate spring bulbs that comes into bloom, I love the sweet scent they give off and when I was a small child I used to love running my hands through a large patch of them that grew in my Mom's garden.
